EGLĖ KURLIANSKAITĖ / GALERIJA, Saltoniškių gatvė, Vilnius, Vilniaus m. sav.

Vilnius College of Fashion Design graduate Ovidija Misiūnaitė's original creative collection "Soviet Shackles". Supervisor lect. Rimantė Rimgailaitė.

This collection is an artistic reflection on Lithuania's path to freedom, commemorating the restoration of independence in 1990 and the painful consequences of the occupation, the echoes of which can still be felt today. The shapes, colours and details of the clothes reveal the everyday life of the Soviet era, when human individuality was suppressed and society was forced to be a homogenous grey mass.

The collection invites us to look into the past, to understand the price and value of freedom, especially for the younger generation, who are only familiar with this period through stories. It is not only an act of style, but also an act of memory preservation - a creative expression that encourages critical thinking and historical awareness.
